Chef Tarannum’s journey to the culinary world is a fascinating story of passion and perseverance. From her childhood, she spent her time immersed in her mother’s kitchen, holding close to her heart a dream of working in professional kitchens and creating exquisite dishes. Despite the lack of culinary schools in India at the time and the challenges faced by women in the field, she held on to her ambition, working for 12 years as a writer and a creative team-leader in advertising to fund her dream.
Her determination finally led her to Gastronomicom Culinary School in Agde, France—an iconic destination for gastronomy. There, she not only refined her skills but also gained invaluable experience as an intern at Michelin-starred Le Hameau des Baux in Provence. Working with the finest ingredients and learning advanced techniques like mastering purées, using molecular tools like Kappa and agar-agar, and perfecting seafood and poultry preparations, she flourished under the guidance of expert chefs for more than 6 years, across kitchens in the South of France.
Chef Tarannum’s approach to cooking is rooted in creativity, precision, and a deep respect for ingredients. Be it crafting starters infused with bold spices or filleting fish with precision, her work reflects her enduring passion for culinary artistry and her commitment to elevating every dining experience she touches.
