Edition 2: Book Launch With Harleen Singh

The evening that beautifully unfolded the story of “The Lost Heer” at Ikk Panjab, Connaught Place on May 12, 2025.

For the second edition of The Heritage Gathering, we tried to bring the unheard stories of Panjab to life, with Harleen Singh, author of The Lost Heer, through an intimate and powerful book discussion. This edition was especially meaningful, held in partnership with the ever-iconic Bahrisons Booksellers.

In conversation with writer, singer, and journalist Abhilasha Ojha, the author spoke about a work that stays with you, like those old stories you’d hear from your parents, filled with emotion and quiet strength. Stories about women who were strong but often forgotten. It connected so well with what we’re trying to build at Ikk Panjab — a place where lost stories of Panjab are remembered and preserved every day.

Harleen Singh shared how his 20s were spent researching this project — The Lost Heer. He spoke about the title, and how while we all know the story of Heer, there are countless Heers who have been lost along the way. Whose stories are hidden, silenced, not loud enough to be heard. This book, he said, marks the presence of those lost Heers — women whose voices deserve to be remembered.
