Heritage Walk
After the beautiful and memorable night with Sunaini Sharma, we set out the next day for an architectural walk through the City Beautiful – Chandigarh, guided thoughtfully by Lovnish Hans.
Our morning began with crisp air and a sense of anticipation as we stepped into a journey through modernist marvels and quiet narratives hidden in concrete and geometry. We explored iconic spaces like the House of Pierre Jeanneret and the Government Museum and Art Gallery, each layered with stories of vision, collaboration, and purpose. With Lovnish’s deeply insightful narration, we dove into the essence of Le Corbusier’s masterplan – not just as a layout of roads and sectors, but as a living, breathing experiment in urban harmony.
It was a journey of learning, reflection, and admiration for the design philosophy that shaped Chandigarh – a city born of post-independence hope, defined by its architectural dignity and human-centric ideals. By the end of the walk, we weren’t just seeing buildings – we were beginning to understand the soul of a city built to inspire.
